Medical Check

Once you’ve landed a job in China, you will begin your Visa application process. The first thing you need to do is to undergo a thorough medical checkup.

By law, all foreigners who come to China to work or study for longer than six months are required to go through a medical examination before and after they enter China. You will have to submit the relevant documents confirming that you have passed the physical examination when you apply for a working permit (Z Visa) for China.

The health check must be carried out in a government-recognized hospital. You can find the required Physical Examination Form to be completed from the Chinese Embassy Website.

Many have downplayed the importance of physical examinations due to their cost, which is highly irresponsible. It is vital that you know your own health.

We had previous lessons where a teacher obtains false physical examination results from a less reputable doctor, with no actual tests conducted. The teacher went through all the trouble of the Visa application, bought the air ticket, went to China, and only to find out that he does not meet the health criteria after his mandatory health check, soon after he arrives in China. He lost his job and was liable for the losses because he produced false physical test results.

The physical examination might be costly for some, but it is definitely worth it for the surety it brings. Contact us if you have any uncertainties regarding the matter.
